I'm trying to build a str/fth build and I would really like to know which greataxe between the dragonslayer's and the demon's is better suited to taking advantage of high strength and faith. I plan to melee mainly but have a few useful miracles on the side and the weapon skills from both of these weapons have my attention.

I believe you can. It's probably worth it if you're planning on using other sorceries as well. If not, you may just want to make do with the +80 at 500 Souls cost from Charcoal. @mlarrabee: Pretty sure he means the spell buff. Not the weapon path. It's not worth it to use Crystal anything.
